One thing we have experienced over the years, is that many have come and many have gone. So our birthday celebrations are more than just celebrating the day, it is above all a celebration of those who have remained faithful to the call to become involved, not only in the CDP, but in Christian politics.
The road has not been easy. Besides legislation that changed at the last minute, there has been the way proportional representation was calculated, that cost us a certain seat in the National parliament in 2004, the ever increasing deposits making it more and more difficult to take part in elections, and the absolute apathy on the part of Christians to support their brothers and sisters in politics.
In spite of all the obstacles, we are still here, and as the leader of the CDP, I not only invite you, but urge you to respond now and indicate your commitment to be present at this landmark occasion. Please print out the INVITATION, and you are more than welcome to invite a friend/s.
Directions to Venue
GPS Coordinates: 25º 57’ 33. 16” S | 27º 55’ 09. 73” E. (Find us on the extension of Malibongwe Drive, just before Lanseria Airport. Travel on the R512. Approximately 3 kms after you cross over the N14 (Pretoria/Krugersdorp Highway), Shumba Valley is on the right hand side of the road.)
From Johannesburg City Centre: N1 (De Villiers Graaf Motorway) towards Pretoria. Bloemfontein Roodepoort sign to the left, just after the Woodmead off ramp. Now on the concrete highway – carry on until you take the Malibongwe Drive/Lanseria/ Kya Sands off ramp. Turn right, over the highway and carry on straight through Kya Sands and over the N14 (Pretoria/Krugersdorp Highway). Shumba Valley Lodge is approximately 3Kms further on, on the right hand side.
From Pretoria: M1 (Ben Schoeman Highway) towards Johannesburg until you reach the Krugersdorp off ramp (N14). Follow the Krugersdorp signs until you get to the Lanseria/Brits off ramp. Turn right over the highway. Shumba Valley Lodge is approximately 3Kms further on, on the right hand side.
From Roodepoort: Take the Hendrik Potgieter road to the fourway stop at N14. Turn right and continue to Lanseria off ramp. Turn left, Shumba Valley Lodge is approximately 3Kms further on, on the right hand side.
From Sandton: Travel on the William Nicol, over the concrete highway until you get to the Fourways Mall. Turn left into Witkoppen Drive and then right into Cedar Drive. Carry on until you reach the T-junction, turn left and then immediately right (follow the Sun City sign). Carry on until you reach the next T-junction and turn right (still following the Sun City sign). Shumba Valley Lodge is approximately 1km further on, on the right hand side.
